My routine is feeling like maintenance
Looking back, I think the most exhausting part wasn’t even the routine itself. It was the constant mental noise. The constant fear of breakouts.
And honestly, part of me liked that. It made me feel like I was taking care of myself properly. I was like, I deserved that care. I was becoming someone who had their life together, at least that’s what I thought.
But my skin didn’t feel calm. That was the strangest part. For someone using this many products, my skin constantly felt irritated in small ways. Not severe enough to panic. Just never fully comfortable.

ULTIMATE SKINCARE ROUTINE
The simplification experiment
I was using skincare to chase a feeling more than results. The feeling that I was fixing myself. Improving myself. Getting closer to becoming someone comfortable in their own skin.
That’s why simplifying my routine felt emotionally difficult at first. Because removing products felt like removing progress. But over time, I started realizing something important: Healthy skin doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from finally stopping the constant cycle of correction.

Controling my skincare decisions
I never considered that my skin might actually need less interference. No influencers have told this, maybe because the skincare industry rarely teaches restraint. It teaches optimization. More steps. More actives. More products. More solutions. Means more sales, more profit.
But at some point, I realized my skin didn’t need a complicated system. It needed stability.
